UK Context: The British system of establishing laws through parliamentary debate, judicial interpretation and public consultation allows religious perspectives to be heard alongside other viewpoints. Faith communities regularly submit evidence to parliamentary committees and participate in public consultations on issues related to .
UK Context: British examiners specifically look for the use of specific scriptural references (e.g. Surah numbers, Bible chapter and verse) and named scholars or traditions. Vague references to ‘what Christians believe’ or ‘what Muslims think’ without specific evidence will not achieve the highest marks.

Answer: Catholics believe abortion is always wrong because life begins at conception and the foetus has an absolute right to life (Jeremiah 1:5). In contrast, most Muslims permit abortion before 120 days (ensoulment) in cases of rape, risk to the mother, or serious abnormality. After 120 days, abortion is only allowed to save the mother's life. Anglicans take a middle position — abortion is generally wrong but may be acceptable in extreme circumstances. Both traditions value the sanctity of life but differ on when life begins and whether circumstances can justify abortion.

They are different principles that can lead to different ethical conclusions."
