Teaching Script (35 mins):

Common Errors: Watch Out! Students often make mistakes with this topic. Wrong: Photography history is irrelevant — I just need to take good pictures. Correct: Understanding photography's history gives you a VISUAL VOCABULARY and CONTEXT for your own choices. When you understand why photographers made certain decisions, you can make your own decisions with greater intention and sophistication. AQA AO1 specifically requires contextual understanding.
