Free A-Level Chemistry revision notes. 9 topics across AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC, and CCEA specifications.
🔀 Board Differences
Board specifications differ in assessment structure and emphasis. The core content is shared across boards; these are the genuine differences by board:
AQA: Three papers; Paper 3 includes practical-skills and synoptic multiple choice. Clear division into physical, inorganic and organic chemistry. Twelve required practicals.
Edexcel: Three papers with clear formula sheets. Sixteen core practical activities; applied and practical questions foregrounded in Paper 3.
OCR: Offered as OCR A (traditional) with a synoptic 'Unified Chemistry' Paper 3, and OCR B (Salters, context-led). Practical work runs as twelve PAGs.
WJEC: Welsh board; unitised structure. Content aligns closely with the English specifications.
CCEA: Northern Ireland's board; unitised assessment with content broadly mirroring other boards.
